Radiation Research Trust reports: UK residents Neil McDougall and Karen Churchill (McDougall & Churchill v UK) filed an application with the European Court of Human Rights on 25 August 2026, asking whether the UK's legal framework provides adequate public-health protection when phone masts are proposed near homes, schools and vulnerable groups. They argue the UK denied them an effective remedy under Articles 6(1), 8 and 13 of the European Convention on Human Rights, including assessment of site-specific risks, exclusion zones, cumulative exposure and evidence submitted during planning. RRT frames the case as a challenge to a system where ICNIRP compliance and planning policy are treated as ceilings rather than starting points.
