📋 Methodology

How we source, verify, and curate EMF research news

Our Mission

EMF Signal aims to bridge the global community of researchers, advocates, and curious individuals interested in the health effects of electromagnetic fields. We aggregate and curate content to make the worldwide conversation visible and accessible.

Core Principles

1. Source Quality First

We prioritize peer-reviewed research, official government publications, and established independent analysts over sensational media coverage.

2. Balanced Presentation

EMF research includes studies showing effects and studies showing no effects. We present both, letting readers form their own conclusions.

3. Transparency

We link to original sources whenever possible. Our curation criteria are documented here.

4. No Financial Conflicts

EMF Signal is not funded by telecommunications companies, equipment manufacturers, or advocacy groups. We have no financial incentive to favor any conclusion.

Source Tiers

We categorize sources by type and use them differently depending on content:

Tier Description Examples Used For
Tier 1 Peer-reviewed journals, official government agencies, established research databases EMF-Portal, PubMed, WHO, ICNIRP, national health agencies (FHI, NIPH, SSM) Scientific claims, health assessments
Tier 2 Established independent analysts, scientific organizations, expert commentary Microwave News, ICBE-EMF, BioEM, academic institutions, BERENIS Analysis, expert interpretation, research context
Tier 3 Mainstream news media, wire services, quality journalism Reuters, AP, major newspapers (NYT, Guardian, SF Chronicle), national broadcasters Breaking news, events, public statements, policy developments
Voices Independent researchers and analysts with established expertise Einar Flydal, SaferEMR (Moskowitz), BRHP (Leszczynski), EHT Alternative perspectives, critical analysis

Important Note on News Coverage

Our "Latest News" section frequently features mainstream media sources (Tier 3) reporting on EMF-related events, controversies, and statements. This is intentional — we aim to track the public discourse around EMF, not just scientific publications.

When we report from mainstream media, we:

Corrections Policy

If we make an error, we will:

  1. Correct the error as soon as possible
