Gigaherz.ch reports on a Swiss Federal Office for the Environment audit published on 28 September 2026 after inspections conducted in 2024. Founder Hansueli Jakob writes that 29 of 111 sampled mobile base stations had hardware settings that differed from their permits, while 8 of 136 had discrepancies in operator control-system settings and 25 of 136 had incorrect entries in the federal antenna database. Jakob combines the hardware and software rates into an estimate that 32% of Switzerland's roughly 20,000 base stations operate outside some permitted parameter, but says calculated radiation limits were exceeded at only 4% of inspected installations.

Note: Gigaherz.ch, founded in 2000, describes itself as the Swiss interest group of people affected by electrosmog. Hansueli Jakob heads its specialist unit on non-ionizing radiation. The 32% national estimate is Jakob's extrapolation from separate hardware and software samples, not a combined figure quoted from the federal report.
