A 2026 study from the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute measured personal RF-EMF exposure in 143 Swiss adolescents using exposimeters worn for 72 hours between June 2023 and January 2025. Mean daily total RF-EMF was 0.09 mW/m2, with Wi-Fi/Bluetooth contributing most (35%), followed by broadcast (31%). Despite 5G deployment, overall personal exposure remained similar to pre-5G levels.
Note: A related study by the same research group (RΓΆΓΆsli, Loizeau et al.) measured ambient RF-EMF across 300 outdoor areas, 244 public spaces, and 332 transport rides in Switzerland (2021–2024) and found no significant change in RF-EMF levels despite an 18-fold increase in data traffic.
