EuCAP paper surveys how Europe monitors RF-EMF exposure, from Swiss networks to citizen-science apps

A conference paper presented at the 20th European Conference on Antennas and Propagation in Dublin surveys current approaches to RF-EMF exposure monitoring in Europe. The authors, including Martin Röösli of the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute, evaluate public and personal exposure assessment methods for accuracy, representativity and their ability to distinguish subpopulations. They present Switzerland's non-ionising radiation monitoring, a smartphone-based exposure app from the citizen-science ETAIN project, and a low-cost sensor network extended to capture the spatiotemporal dynamics of adaptive 5G antennas. The paper was added to IEEE Xplore on 11 August 2026.
