A Plants (MDPI) paper by Keller and Geier (Forschungsring e.V., Darmstadt) exposed silver linden plants (Tilia tomentosa) to radiofrequency electromagnetic fields in DECT-phone (1890–1900 MHz) and Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz plus 5 GHz) bands, and analysed photosynthesis with the JIP fast-chlorophyll-fluorescence test. Chlorophyll a fluorescence showed the RF-EMF exposure interfered with the electron-transport processes of photosynthesis. Exposed plants showed a decrease in photosynthetic efficiency (FV/FM) and inactivation of part of the PSII reaction centres. Over 102 days of leaf-senescence observation, RF-EMF-exposed plants also exhibited accelerated aging.
