CONFESQ, the Spanish national coalition for fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, multiple chemical sensitivity and electrohypersensitivity, held a conference on September 24, 2026 for World Environmental Health Day. Coalition president María López Matallana presented the Green Book on workplace adaptation, which we reported in
September was due to launch here. Most of the programme concerned chemical pollutants, endocrine disruptors and microplastics, in a talk by Granada radiology professor Nicolás Olea. The coalition frames the argument around One Health, that pollution is a public health question for everyone, not only for people living with these conditions.

Note: CONFESQ stands for Coalición Nacional de Entidades de Fibromialgia, Síndrome de Fatiga Crónica / Encefalomielitis Miálgica, Sensibilidad Química Múltiple y Electrohipersensibilidad, which it renders in English as the Spanish National Coalition of Fibromyalgia, Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Multiple Chemical Sensitivity and Electromagnetic Sensitivity. It is a non-profit umbrella body based in Madrid, founded in 2004 as a confederation, hence the letters in the name, and re-registered as a coalition in 2018. It says it has more than 60 member associations representing over 11,000 patients across Spain, and it holds Spanish public-interest status.
