International scientists are gathered in Cairns, Australia this week for BioEM 2026, the world's largest conference on the biological effects of electromagnetic fields. Thursday begins with the D'Arsonval Lecture, followed by sessions on RF and microwave animal studies, risk assessment, standards, neuromodulation and biological mechanisms. The afternoon workshops address the transition from 5G to 6G and revision of ICNIRP's low-frequency guidelines.
