France's national frequency agency (ANFR) raised the 'atypical point' threshold from 6 V/m to 9 V/m on January 1, 2026. Phonegate Alert has filed a legal challenge, arguing the change masks increased EMF exposure from 5G deployment.
"By raising this threshold, ANFR mechanically reduces the number of locations considered as 'exceeding limits.' In doing so, it exempts itself from its obligation to identify and have operators address high-exposure zones."
